How often should my dog be groomed?

It depends on their breed and coat type.
Most dogs benefit from grooming every 6–8 weeks, while short-haired breeds might be fine with a bath and tidy every couple of months.
We’re happy to create a schedule that keeps your dog’s coat healthy and easy to manage year-round.

Do you offer one-to-one appointments?

Yes, always.
At Glamour Pooch, each appointment is dedicated to one dog at a time. This keeps the experience calm, focused, and stress-free, especially for nervous or first-time visitors.

What if my dog is anxious or nervous?

We take things slowly. Caroline is trained in animal behaviour and has over 20 years’ experience working with nervous, rescue, and elderly dogs.
We use calm handling, gentle reassurance, and never rush a session. Many dogs become much more confident over time.

Can I stay while my dog is being groomed?

In most cases, we recommend owners don’t stay during the groom. Dogs often relax more quickly once their owner has left, as they settle into the routine and focus on the groomer.
If your dog has special needs, we’ll talk through what’s best for them.

Do you use special shampoo for sensitive skin?

Yes. We use high-quality, dog-safe shampoos and can choose hypoallergenic or use your vets medicated formulas if needed.
Just let us know about any allergies or skin sensitivities before your appointment.

What is your experience level?

Caroline is City & Guilds Level 3 qualified in dog grooming and holds a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, with over 20 years of hands-on experience.
You can trust your dog is in knowledgeable, caring hands.
